Hamptons-Inspired Transformation into 430sqm of Luxury Living

This Hamptons-inspired home began as a single-storey, living-over-garage, basic brown brick veneer build from the early 70s. Through an extensive renovation and extension, it has now become more than 430 square metres of luxury living across two levels.

The original home offered three double bedrooms, a single bedroom/study with built-in wardrobes, one bathroom and a single-car garage. The renovation more than doubled the size of the home, adding a new master suite with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe. One of the original double bedrooms was converted into a large family bathroom with a double vanity, walk-in shower, 1800mm bath and WC. Both the kitchen and laundry were doubled in size; the original living/dining area was expanded; and a new rear living area was added. A new large alfresco dining and lounge area was also created, with direct access from both the kitchen and rear living area.

The downstairs level was a completely new build, incorporating two large double bedrooms—one with a walk-in wardrobe and the other with a built-in wardrobe—a large rumpus/living area, bathroom, and linen closet. Both the main bedroom and living area have direct access out to the garden.

Some of the standout features include a wood fire slow-combustion fireplace with granite hearth and marble surround; new stairs connecting to the downstairs level and double garage; extensive use of marble in all bathrooms; luxury tapware throughout; a beautiful shaker-style kitchen with a large island and stone benchtops; traditional 42mm shutters; wainscoting; V-joint ceilings; new crown moulding, architraves and skirting; and bullnose window sills.

Both the front and rear gardens have been extensively landscaped with traditional plants, shrubs and trees. French-pattern travertine tiles were used throughout the gardens, alfresco area, front porch and stairs. Additional features include a tiered backyard with three distinct zones, a pond and water feature, and mature hedging that creates a private oasis.
