Waterproofing Failure Rectification, Resheeting & Full Balcony Rebuild

This client came to us needing repairs to the balcony over their front entry. The waterproofing had failed over time and water was leaking through to the ceiling below.

The scope involved removing all tiles, the old particleboard flooring (terrible choice for an external floor), the ceiling below, and the entry porch floor tiles. Luckily, the timber floor joists were still in good condition. We then resheeted the balcony using James Hardie Secura fibre cement flooring, reconfigured the drainage to prevent blockages and overflow, waterproofed the area and retiled it.

The ceiling below was replaced, new downlights installed and the area repainted — although we didn’t manage to get final photos of the painted ceiling (LOL).

In addition, we retiled the front entry porch and the rear sliding door sill, and installed several solar security lights.
