Full Exterior Refurbishment of a Character Blue Mountains Home

This cosy character cottage in Leura, located in the Upper Blue Mountains, was in need of a complete exterior renovation. The existing timber weatherboards had deteriorated to the point where replacement was essential.

We removed all the existing cladding and carried out necessary repairs to the framework, which showed areas of dry rot. New insulation batts were installed and the walls were wrapped in insulation wall wrap prior to recladding the home with James Hardie Scyon Linea fibre cement weatherboards.

A new timber bathroom window was custom-made to match the existing windows, and structural alterations were completed to create the new opening. Repairs to the timber handrails and the front and rear decks were also carried out, along with minor internal repairs. The roofing over the awning hood at the front window was repaired and renewed.

To finish, the entire exterior of the home was freshly painted.
